Aluminum 6061 CNC Machining

6061 (T6) aluminum alloy is a high-grade aluminum material manufactured via heat treatment and pre-stretching processes, exclusively designed for industrial manufacturing. As a heat-treatable strengthened aluminum alloy, 6061 aluminum features excellent formability, weldability and machinability, suiting a wide range of machining applications. It delivers moderate mechanical strength and retains favorable processability even after annealing.

Magnesium and silicon serve as the primary alloying elements of 6061 aluminum, jointly forming Mg₂Si precipitates. Moderate additions of manganese and chromium can effectively offset the adverse impacts of iron. Minor copper or zinc may be incorporated to boost alloy strength without significantly compromising corrosion resistance. Copper addition counteracts the negative effects of titanium and iron on electrical conductivity. Besides, zirconium or titanium refines grain structures and regulates recrystallization textures to optimize material mechanical properties.

To elevate machinability, our factory can add lead and bismuth to improve the cutting performance of 6061 aluminum alloy. Once Mg₂Si dissolves within the aluminum matrix, the alloy exhibits artificial age hardening characteristics and expands its applicable scenarios. All the above formulations guarantee that our 6061 aluminum alloy complies with stringent industrial standards and delivers reliable, high-efficiency solutions for clients.
