Cold Rolled Steel, commonly abbreviated as CRS, is a mainstream industrial steel material widely used in precision manufacturing. In industrial production, steel ingots are processed through continuous cold rolling by professional cold rolling mills, and finally formed into steel coils and flat sheets with customized precise thickness specifications to meet diverse production and processing demands.

Different from hot-rolled steel, cold rolled steel is produced without high-temperature heating treatment. This production process completely avoids common surface defects of hot-rolled products, including rolling scale, oxide spots and uneven surface layers. Therefore, CRS features ultra-smooth surface finish, excellent flatness and superior overall surface quality, which is suitable for subsequent fine processing and surface finishing operations.

It is worth noting that cold rolled steel has no protective coating on its raw surface. When exposed to open air, especially in high-humidity, rainy or corrosive atmospheric environments, the unprotected steel surface is prone to oxidation reaction, forming dark red rust and causing surface quality degradation. For this reason, secondary surface protection treatments such as painting, electroplating and anti-corrosion coating are essential during actual application and storage to extend the service life of CRS workpieces.

For high-silicon cold rolled steel sheets, the material itself presents high brittleness and low plasticity, which makes cold rolling forming difficult and prone to cracking and deformation. In standardized factory processing, such high-silicon steel materials must be preheated to 200°C in advance before cold rolling operation to improve material plasticity and ensure stable rolling forming quality.

In terms of comprehensive performance, cold rolled steel products boast extremely high dimensional accuracy and stable structural consistency. The internal microstructure and mechanical properties of CRS can be precisely controlled during the cold rolling process, enabling the material to meet various special industrial performance requirements. It delivers excellent deep drawing formability, stable electromagnetic properties and uniform mechanical performance, making it the preferred material for precision stamping parts, electrical equipment components, deep drawing structural parts and high-precision industrial accessories.
